You did the right thing in bringing this to me. This software has the potential to revolutionize drone warfare. We'll make a pretty penny. Scry Digital keeps all its vital servers underground. You will need to infiltrate the basement, find the correct servers, and verify their data through an access terminal. The building has an AI called SINS controlling all security systems. You might need to - how do they say - pull the plug.
Syntax Error is the first DLC Heist added to PAYDAY 3. The heist involves the crew breaking into the data center of Scry Digital to steal servers.
No idea what that combat data was doing on Patricia Sharke's server, but it points to a new kind of drone operating system that could net us some serious cash. The Butcher has a buyer all lined up. We just need to deliver the goods.
The software we want is stored at the Scry Digital data center. Once you get in and verify the correct servers, we'll need steal[sic] the servers themselves to avoid corruption with a transfer. Stay sharp in there. An AI called SINS controls all the security systems, and we've never seen anything like it. But for thieves of your skill, I'm sure this will be a walk in the park.
Hovering over the Heist
The Butcher's eager to fence that drone software we found. Just need to steal it first.
That drone program mentioned on the Gold & Sharke server is being stored at Scry Digital. Time to hit download.
They say the security at this data center is cutting-edge... let's see how it holds up against you.
Overview
After combing through the files on Patricia Sharke's hard drive, Shade uncovers something of great interest: combat data for a cutting-edge drone operating system. The program appears capable of endowing just about any collection of drones with military-grade coordination and target acquisition. It's not yet clear what this combat data is doing on a bank server, but one thing is obvious: the drone system is worth an absolute fortune on the black market.
Needing to be done in both loud and stealth the process of scanning the servers is the exact same, first has the player throwing in the bagged server into the scanning terminal. If the server has the drone data then it will play a sound and the server will not be able to taken out again. If the server does not contain the data then it will be able to bagged and taken as extra loot. If the server found does not contain the data, it must be taken out to scan the next server. As soon as the three servers are found, then a larger drone data case can be taken. This bag will slow the player down greatly, not allowing for them to sprint.
Stealing SINS
ScryDigital's AI, SINS, can be stolen by players and is hinted at by Shade. Although this originally awarded players challenge XP, due to the progression revamp system, the challenge is no longer available and SINS serves as an optional but very lucrative baggable loot. In order to steal SINS there must be two players.
SINS' containment is protected by two buttons:
A button directly behind SINS
A button located in the second floor office
In order to unlock SINS' containment, two players must position themselves near the buttons. Once ready, both players must press the button at the same time. Upon completion, SINS' chamber will open and will net players the AI core itself, depriving Scry Digital of its prized AI and awarding the player a larger payout.
The heist starts outside the data center, once inside there is a metal detector active, with a guard. This stage allows for two different ways of entering, depending on the whether the player wants to mask up. Although it is recommended to mask up due to the rest of the heist taking place in a secure area.
If the player chooses to go in maskless, then a door to the right of the bathroom must be lock picked. However be mindful that the door is viewable in the guard's sight, if the player does not have the Quick Fingers skill, then a nearby digital sign can be used as a lure to distract the guard long enough. Once in, there is a vent to the left and the upper level security floor's camera room to the right. Do note that taking out the guard only disables the upper level cameras and does not affect the basement level cameras. Once through the vents, go up the stairs and into the office levels, this is a Private Area. On this floor contains the guard with the blue key card, but also the location of the code for the keypad. It will always be in the office, but will either be on the computer or inside the safe. Once the code is acquired, the player can traverse down. If the player wasn't already masked up, then mask up and enter the vent in the bathroom right next to the metal detector. If the player still wishes to remain maskless, then
Once in, the player will go down the stairs and into the data center. There are three different paths, the left is leads to the control room along with elevator. The middle leads to an entrance into server room A and B, along with leading to server room C one of the main hallways. The left leads to the a possible location for the red keycard to spawn and a control room, with a computer that once breached, reveals the location of where the desired servers are being held. Once in, the only objective is to locate and scan the desired servers.
Some servers room can be entered using a QR code, with a single QR code being found on the heist. However the QR code can also be used to access a storage room, with a ladder bridge and vent access to server room A. Vents are the main way to enter server rooms, with a vent being above each server room that allows for. The final method is through the central control room, once in, there are panels connected to each server room. Once interacted with, the connected server room will open. To leave each server room permanently open, shut down the security system.
Once the data has been collected, the player must make their way back up to the ground level. This can be done by either using the Zipline connected to the elevator or through the stairs that came up. Due note, if the stairs are taken, a guard will come out of the elevator, and they will become the only guard to patrol that area. They can either be distracted using a throwing knife or quietly taken out. Once back on the ground level, the van will park near the data center, near the stairs first used to access the upper level. After using the same vent, the door to outside is where the van will be reached. There is a large civilian presence, because of how slow the player will be when carrying the drone data, it is recommended to wait until few civilians are around. Additionally, only intimidating civilian that spot the player can be done because of the close proximity of the van.
Going in loud, SINS will shut down access to the keypad. This requires to place a hacking device onto the keypad and wait, during this, hostages can be traded, however negotiations on this heist only last 30 seconds. During the hack, two additional attempts from SINS will shut down the hack, requiring for other ports to be adjusted to reconnect the signal.
Once in, a red key card must be found to enter the control room. The keycard will be on a stand, either next to the stairs to one of the cooling rooms or scanning area. After getting in, SINS' control panel must be hacked. However soon after, SINS will stop the attempted shut down. Requiring to shut down the cooling system.
The location of both cooling valves is the same, however the order of which is different. Both follow the exact same steps, with the player shutting off the valve, and needing to protect another valve from both standard SWAT and Sabotage Squad. After each valve has been shut off, the hack can be resumed, along with either server room A or E being opened, allowing for scanning. Once the second cooling system has been shut off, the hack must be resumed and will finally shut down SINS. Once done, all server rooms will be accessible.
Once scanned, the player must return to the control room, being able to enter a storage area that. In the elevator, there are set of three explosives. These must be taken, and then placed onto the wall of storage area, once placed they will blow a hole from the basement and into the nearby park. Taking the drone data, the player must hunker down and wait in the clearing for the helicopter to arrive. The timer for the helicopter will only pass if the player is waiting in the clearing. Once the helicopter arrives, the loot can be secured along with the escape being triggered.
Variations
The red keycard location changes between three locations.
A syntax error is a type of computing error that occurs when a programmer writes an "invalid" error, such as spelling mistakes.
This is the first heist in PAYDAY 3 to utilise a unique camera mechanic:
The public and private area on the surface are monitored by a lone security guard in a camera room. He can be killed to disable cameras permanently.
The secure basement area containing SINS and the server rooms are monitored by SINS itself, making it impossible to disable the cameras without destroying them (unless the Titan Camera modifiers are active).
Twitch's escape van and another vehicle running over civilians while leaving the premises, subsequently massacring tied down hostages
Unusually, street vehicles and Twitch's Escape Van (when exiting the premises upon the heist going loud) that can be seen driving on the road normally, can commit vehicular manslaughter to civilians either cowering or tied down as hostages. While this will not subtract players' payout whatsoever, as it is technically an environmental kill not caused by the responsible player, it will cost players extra hostages.
During the heist, SINS will attempt to identify the player's character.
When SINS starts malfunctioning after disabling both cooling systems, it begins to confuse the six playable heisters from launch with six of the (at the time) "unaccounted for" heisters from PAYDAY 2. Whether these signify potentially returning heisters is up to community interpretation.
SINS reveals Clover's full name upon malfunctioning: Rochelle Maloney.
SINS fails to successfully identify Clover, Houston or Jacket upon playing as either of them. This is despite the fact that SINS has information on at least two of them in its data files.
This is likely because the actor does not have voice actor recorded for any new heisters added post launch.

Bugs
The windows in the control room are able to be mantled through, regardless of if they are broken or not.
Some small areas in the basement are public areas; namely a corner near the control room and a small area at the top of the upper stairs in the control room. Guards will not detect unmasked players here.
Civilians can occasionally die with no input and fall through the map when in stealth, causing the heist to go loud, since they fall into the basement to be discovered by a drone, guard or camera.
