The Laser Chronometer is a throwable in PAYDAY 2 released as part of the Espionage Weapon Pack.

Overview

While holding the throwable key, a short ranged laser will be emitted from the watch. This laser can be used to open doors similar to the OVE9000 Saw. It can generally open any door that the OVE9000 Saw can, such as regular doors, GenSec security doors, cage doors, and deposit boxes.

It deals damage every 0.46 seconds and will open most doors after 8 hits, or around 4 seconds of use. Some doors like deposit boxes will only take 2 hits. However, it only has 30 uses, or 15 seconds of battery life.

Tips

• An Ordnance Bag can be used to fully refill its rather short capacity/battery. Using all four Ordnance Bag pouches will restore a total of 120 hits, which may be enough to negate the need for the OVE9000 Saw.
  • The watch can also be refilled by the Grenade Case asset, however you will only get 10 uses back for each use of the asset.
  • Fully Loaded Aced will refill the battery, albeit slowly as the skill only gives 1 use for every time you get a throwable from it.

Trivia

• The name of the Laser Chronometer is derived from the Ancient Greek word "khronómetron" meaning "time measurer."
• Despite resembling a wristwatch, the heisters do not have the Laser Chronometer strapped onto their wrist.
