Mechanics
This skill only triggers when using a scope-type sight. This includes the following three sights:
- Fluted Marksman Scope
- Primed Marksman Scope
- Default Reinfeld 900S Scope
When performing an attack, EDGE is consumed and the damage dealt will be the following:
(Damage * Zoom Level) + (Damage * Skill Bonuses†) = Total Damage
†Skill Bonuses include any skills that provide a damage bonus, and the 10% damage bonus from EDGE.

Strategy
Precision shot has very limited use conditions, only being able to trigger with specific scopes on the SA A144 and Reinfeld 900S. Any build not using these weapons and scopes should not equip the skill as it is a waste of a skill point. Precision shot is best used when trying to kill high-priority targets like Bulldozers, as a proper shot can kill any target in just one or two shots.

While Precision Shot consumes EDGE, any skill that requires EDGE for a damage bonus will activate on the same shot as the Precision Shot. This includes Face to Face, Combat Marking, Finisher, and Coup de Grâce. This can stack an extra 225% damage onto the shot. This is very useful for dealing with bulldozers, as a single shot to a Bulldozer's visor using the Reinfeld 900S with Precision Shot and Finisher will do enough damage to instantly shatter the visor (1,052.19 damage against a 850 health visor).
The obvious downside to the skill is the consumption of EDGE any time a scoped shot is made. Scoring a headshot with a scoped shot will not trigger the EDGE refresh of Sharpshooter aced. As Precision Shot can only be used with scopes, players must hipfire their shots if they want to retain EDGE. This can be annoying when used on the Reinfeld 900S, as it has one of the worst spreads in the game when fired from the hip.
Unless the player is solely using Precision Shot to quickly kill Bulldozers, Cutting Shot should be used instead of Precision Shot. Cutting Shot does not consume EDGE, works on all weapons, and provides a more consistent damage bonus. A Reinfeld 900S with either Precision Shot or Cutting Shot can kill all enemies excluding Bulldozers with a single headshot, however the Reinfeld with Cutting Shot does not need to have a scope or consume edge when doing so.
