After getting cuffed by a guard, you can break free by lockpicking the cuffs.

Mechanics

If detained by a guard, you can lockpick yourself free.

Strategy

In cases that result in a guard arresting the player, being able to break out of cuffs without having either teammate free you from cuffs. Additionally, if quick enough, the player may be fast enough to kill the guard before they call for Search to be activated.

Since the mechanic is the same as lockpicking, the Quick Fingers skill is applicable here as well, speeding up the process.
